Mathew Sullivan FRSA is a class teacher, educational trainer, creative consultant and author of educational literature and children's fiction.
As a teacher and educational trainer, he has worked in education full time for twelve years - leading Writing, Computing, and LKS2. He has provided national CPD training on using comics to enhance literacy teaching (evaluated as ‘superb’ and ‘inspiring’ by attendees). He also works as a creative and pedagogic consultant for the Manchester Metropolitan University Comic SMART initiative, where his techniques are implemented in high schools across Manchester. Mathew has also worked as creative consultant for the Get Kids into Survey initiative, launched on behalf of the geo-surveying industry. He has demonstrated his approach in schools around the North West, and he was named Silk 106.9 Teacher of the Year.
As an author, Mathew has written Developing Writing through Comics for Creative Educational Press Ltd - a book on the subject of using comics to improve literacy - as well as co-writing A Second book of Exciting Sentences and The Ultimate Guide to Non-Fiction Writing with Alan Peat. He wrote his first book for children, Melvin McGee: Zombie Hunter in 2015. Mathew's latest book project is a 12+ sci-fi series called Game Over, which began in July 2022 with the release of Game Over: Rise of the Raid Mob. The series is published by Clock Tower Publishing, an imprint of the award-winning Sweet Cherry Publishing.
